The characters, the intrigue, the simple humanity of people just trying to live a good life, the voice, the inflection, the anticipation, the characters - well they are all nothing short of magical.

Hi Todd, & to anyone reading this review - it is simply restorative. The imagery, the weave of the story. Follow this podcast for immersion in times/place that exist throughout our country-all too forgotten, possibly overlooked, and makes us - well us! I believe it is reasonable to nominate Todd as a continuation of the legacy left us by Stewart McLean, Peter Gzowski, & just possibly Pierre Berton. Love it! Tod Maffin’s Canadiana fiction is heartwarming, funny, entertaining and clever. Believable characters I am loving getting to know, and quickly became invested in what they’re up to and what they’ll do next. I was unfamiliar with ‘Vinyl Café’ before, but if it’s like this podcast, I’ll be looking up those stories too. Mirror Falls is one to savour (yet I’ll probably binge-listen) 🥰

Tod has done it again! This is yet another place he has created that I can go to for serenity, hope, some chuckles, and an insider’s view of small town Canadiana. IYKYK.

A delightful listen. Cheerful, calming, and so Canadian. I could listen to Tod’s voice for hours. I grew up listening to Stuart McLean over breakfast with my Dad every weekend; the nod to the Vinyl Cafe made me tear up. Will keep coming back for more.

Your Canadian content, pace and humour put me in mind of Stuart Maclean and Peter Gzowski. Love this! Keep going. Thank you for your work.

My husband and I are often looking for something to listen to on car trips and this is a perfect fit. Quirky, funny and best of all, Canadian. I was lol listening to it. For real!

Thanks Tod. I needed this. Comparison to other shows are unnecessary. This one holds its own. The same way other great series on CBC have done. Quiet, thoughtful, funny and unabashedly Canadian. I will be waiting impatiently for season two. Best of luck with your Nanaimo Infusion and continued success in drawing into Canada the many talented and kind healthcare workers we so desperately need. ♥️♥️♥️ Love it but have one request. Please tune down the music that is background to your talking. It’s difficult for hearing impaired people - I really have to stretch to focus and separate your words from the music. It is too loud and distracting. I breathe a sigh of relief when the music stops.

Loving this small town story, having grown up in small town Canada, it’s so relatable!

Tod has a gift for storytelling. My only complaint is that the episodes are not longer.

I’ve been following Tod on instagram for awhile now and reading his newsletters because he’s a source of calm and optimism in this crazy world we happen to find ourselves living in. So glad I saved several episodes to binge cause Mirror Falls is definitely worth it. Thank you Tod from one Vancouver Islander to another.
