To be honest, I could listen to Todd Maffin talk about anything! Yet another positive thing he’s added to my otherwise horrible doom scrolling! Great series so far! Can’t wait to hear more.
Tod Maffin is the Canadian storyteller we’ve been waiting for. The people of Mirror Falls feel familiar and endearing, with stories that capture a quietly captivating, distinctly Canadian spirit. Grab a cup of coffee, relax, and enjoy!
As others have commented, there is a distinct similarity to The Vinyl Cafe. For no other reason than that Tod captures the essence of who we are as Canadians. For all of us who miss Stuart and for those who never had the pleasure of waiting eagerly for the next Vinyl Cafe broadcast. Tod is becoming will be Canada’s new go to after a week of stress and cynicism where we get to feel it all melt away in a refreshed appreciation of what it is to be human.Thank you Tod.
I think it's wonderful! Storytelling combined with history, fact with fiction. The music gives it a great atmosphere. I can't wait to listen to more of it!
Tod, I love this series. As someone else commented, it reminds of the days of the Vinyl Cafe on CBC Radio. Any Canadian old enough will remember it. In these troubled times it such a treat to listen to such a sweet podcast to the point of tearing up with joy.
Boy that falls is going to be stunning to see! :-p I am looking forward to all the stories about Mirror Falls. Tod’s is an outstanding writer storyteller and skillfully holds a mirror up to reminds us of who we are as Canadians. Thanks Tod and keep up the great work!
If you loved Stuart Maclean on the Vinyl Cafe, I bet you’ll love Todd Maffin’s new podcast. As a subscriber to Todd’s monthly newsletter I got free access to the teaser for the podcast , as free. So excited to hear our own stories told by a talented and loyal Canadian.
